Functionality

Are there any limitations with the free trial?

There are no limitations, the trial provides 14 day access to the platform with full functionality across all three backup engines; Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.


What are the storage limits?

There is a fair usage data cap set at 1Tb per user. This allowance is pooled across all users within your organisation, for example a 200 user organisation would have a total storage capacity of 200Tb.

Do I need to install anything on my network?

No, 365fortress is a cloud solution with no requirement to install any software locally on your network or take responsibility for backup storage. The platform connects directly to your Microsoft Office 365 tenant and stores backup data in AWS.

Where are my backups stored?

We use AWS to store all backup data, by default in one of the US data centers. If required, it is possible to specify one of 20 other global data centers for your backup data to reside, at no additional cost.

How secure are 365fortress backups?

AES 256bit encryption is used to protect data both in transit and at rest. Hosted in ISO-certified AWS data centers.

Why do I need to backup my Microsoft Office 365 data?

It is a popular misconception that Microsoft Office 365 includes backup of your data, this is incorrect. Microsoft take on the responsiblity of application uptime and the underlying infrastructure but it is the customer's responsibility to manage and protect the data they store on Office 365.

Can I restore SharePoint permissions?

Yes, SharePoint Online permissions are protected during the backup process. This allows you to restore SharePoint items from the backup session with their original permissions. More information on the how the restore permissions process works can be found on our Documentation page here.


Can I backup shared Exchange mailboxes?

Yes shared mailboxes can be selected for backup in the same way as user mailboxes, the 'Mailbox Type' column indicates whether it is a Regular or Shared mailbox.

Pricing

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Our service is based on a 30 day rolling committment. If you choose to cancel, you will be responsible for any charges incurred during that months billing period then you won't be charged again.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We use Stripe for payment processing, all major card types are accepted: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

What happens when I add or remove users?

You are billed on the total number of users, if you add or remove a user this will be automatically detected and your next monthly invoice will be adjusted accordingly. We only charge for licensed users, there is no charge for shared mailboxes.

How do I continue at the end of my trial?

Simply add card details to your billing account to start using the service, we will send a reminder when your trial is about to end.
